Alan Jordan - Bass/Vocals/Lighting

Alan Jordan was born in Upstate New York and spent most of his
childhood in central Virginia. Exposed to the great music of the 70s
by his father, Alan developed a real love for music. Alan began his
musical education in middle school when he played alto and baritone
saxophone in band. After several failed attempts to learn to play
guitar in high school, Alan bought his first bass, figuring that 4
strings had to be easier than 6. That was about 1984.
FAST FORWARD TO 1990. . .
In 1990, Alan and
his roommate moved to VA Beach, VA and formed their first group, The
Release. The band played and wrote songs for several years and
survived many drummer changes. The Release broke up, and Alan went
back to college.
FAST FORWARD TO 1997. . .
In
1997, Alan was hired as an elementary school teacher and met Mark
Cline at school. Mark found out that Alan played bass and asked him
to sit in on a few songs. This led to the full-time bass position
with Mark's band Groove Driver. Years later and Alan and Mark
are still rockin' each week with the band.
